Hello, and welcome to my website!

My name is Richard Lemarchand, and I’m a game designer interested in innovation and creativity, game storytelling techniques, and games as art.

Between 2004 and 2012 I worked at  Naughty Dog, creators of the award-winning Uncharted series, where I was the Lead or the Co-Lead Game Designer of all three Uncharted games for the PlayStation 3. I had an amazing time working with the world-class developers at Naughty Dog on the development of a total of five different critically acclaimed, multimillion-selling projects.

I now work in the Interactive Media & Games Division of the School of Cinematic Arts, at the University of Southern California. I teach game design, and am exploring new design territory by creating a series of experimental games.

I’ve spoken many times at the annual Game Developers Conference, where I also organize the popular GDC Microtalks session. I’m a passionate advocate for indie and experimental games, and I’ve been involved with the independent games festival IndieCade for a number of years.
